May's Happy list :)

Just think of 10 things that are making you happy this month, write them down and grab the banner above for your post! Lets forget about the negatives for a minute, turn off the news and give some attention to all the good things in our lives!

The 10 things making me happy these days are:
My dad and I on my last trip to Scotland
  1. Sleep! I can't get enough of it LOL My excuse is sleep while I can, one day I'll have kids :)
  2. Someone showing incredible belief in me, even though they hardly know me.
  3. The new 'triple J's hottest 100'.
  4. My Dad moving back to South Africa finally to pursue a simpler, happier life (I must have rubbed off on him LOL!)
  5. Green and blacks roasted almond milk chocolate. Total luxury.
  6. Spending time in my craft room.
  7. Counting down to our 1st year anniversary and my 25th birthday trip to Edinburgh where we get to catch up with the lovely Amy and Paul. 6 weeks to go :)
  8. Our newly de-cluttered, organised home. It was so worth the effort and time.
  9. The notes my hubby leaves around the house for me on my days off :)
  10. My hubby himself! Everyday, always :)
I just know he wants to dig up our whole lawn and plant spuds! I do too...

  1. Where is your dad going, what is he going to be doing, what are you going to do without him? And when did he leave, and for how long LOLOLOL

I'm happy for him, too - it's a wonderful place here, with a couple of bruises, but what places haven't got them. Bruises heal - just add arnica ointment :)

    1. Hahaha sometimes I forget quite how independent I am! I have lived a long way form my parents for about 9 years now in different countries, sometimes only seeing them once a year or so. It doesn't really affect me, I seem to live very much in the moment not missing people too much just enjoying who evers in my life at that time. I love the time I spend with my Dad but its not going to be a big shock for me that he's in SA instead of scotland.

He left on wednesday and hes going to be in the east london area, near our family (his mum, dad, sister and brother and all my cousins) He left SA in 96 I think, the last 10 years he's been going back every year so he's kept a lot of his old contacts and friendships very much alive, its always been 'home' to him. thats why im so happy for him :)

LOVE arnica its such a miracle cream!

  4. I think you are a very unselfish daughter to be happy for your father who is going so far away - I know you can keep in touch daily with todays technology - there's not many like you ! and I think (know) you will be making his big decision easier because of your happiness for him - well done. (Think of all the holidays you can have in South Africa !) ha haha

    1. I never thought of it as unselfish! If you read my reply to dani it might make a bit more sense, we don't communicate daily, or even weekly come to think about it! but your right with cheap calls, skype and all that its easy to keep in touch - he reads this blog too :)

We're hoping for a christmas family reunion in SA for 2013

  5. Now that's a revolution we need. I am getting sick of the "worried" or "our world is screwed" mentality that is all pervasive. It does help to have a gem of a spouse!

  6. Great Happiness Post Astra! I love the photo of you & your Dad too. I can understand your relationship with your Dad. My mother only lives 20 min away & we can go for a couple of months without talking. Your hubby sounds like a real sweetie :) I laughed at no.1 on the list - I used to think that too, LOL, - now I completely think sleeping in is such a waste of time as there is soooo much to do :)! Oh how things change, especially when you have kids. Enjoy your sleep-in's! I'm happy for you :))
